Really great company. Everyone that’s come out to my home has been incredibly knowledgeable, well trained, friendly, informative and honest. Easily the best experience I’ve had with any type of home repair/maintenance company in several years. I always feel well taken care of but not taken advantage of. We had a challenging HVAC/water heater issue that had us stumped — backdrafting on a brand new water heater caused by whole-house negative pressure from our HVAC system. Silas came out and did a thorough whole-home performance and safety evaluation, using proper diagnostic equipment to identify the root cause rather than just guessing or recommending we replace things unnecessarily. He took the time to explain everything, offered a range of solutions, and helped us land on the right fix for our situation. Wyatt handled the installation and was excellent — professional, clean install, great attention to detail on the work itself. I recently had an air conditioner and water heater installed, and the entire experience was outstanding. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and arrived exactly when promised. They stayed focused on the job, worked efficiently, and treated our home with great care.
I especially appreciated how careful they were around our landscaping and plants outside, as well as protecting our floors and keeping the work area clean indoors. Their pricing was fair and reasonable, and there were no surprises along the way.
One thing that really stood out was that the owner stopped by during the installation just to check in and personally say thank you for the business. That level of customer service is rare and speaks volumes about the company.

We recently had furnace and A/C unit installed and had the best experience from first contact to installation. Corbin was great to work with. Very friendly, helpful and professional. We had same day quote and appointment for installation 3 days later!! Josh and Darren did an amazing job with installation! Both units are working great and I’m sure more efficiently! Highly recommend this team!

We had such an amazing experience with this Modern Heating and cooling company! Our air went out unexpectedly, and they truly came to the rescue. From the moment we called, they were kind, responsive, and made us feel like a priority. Nick answered on a Saturday and Sent Josh who arrived quickly, was incredibly professional, and took the time to explain everything in a way we could actually understand.

I had a great experience with Modern Heating & Air. Their team, including the folks who helped with scheduling, were all very friendly and helpful and worked with my needs.
The technician arrived on time and was very professional. He explained his work, but I had to hop on a work call while he finished up. He was quick and efficient.
I’m confident in the service they provided and would recommend them. Going to set up annual service checks with them and have them replace a water heater. Looking forward to using Modern as our go-to plumbing and HVAC team moving forward.

Darren and his crew from Modern Hearing and Air were extremely considerate and the took time to ask if I had any questions before the work began and then knowledgeably and kindly answered all.
Extreme care was taken to protect our home and all debris was cleaned when the job was done, would have never known they were even here.
Darren and Keegan took time to show me the air and furnace install. They explained details about each unit and what to expect and also how to use the units, humidifier and thermostat.
Extremely pleased with the workmanship, knowledge and character of Darren and the crew. Highly recommend.

Modern did a fantastic job. Corbin is an excellent salesman, he performed all the calculations other salespeople refused to do and designed a system perfectly sized for our house.
The install team worked quickly and carefully and had our whole system setup and working by 4 in the afternoon.
We couldn’t be more happy with our heat pump system and would recommend them to anyone.

The Modern team installed a new Lennox AC and Heater last week. Sam, Loren and Aaron were professional and fast. Sam kept me posted on progress as they working and provided a “tour” of my AC. Aaron gave me the same “tour” of my new furnace. Great people to work with. Shout out to Nick who helped me navigate the home warranty maze! Much appreciated. The whole team was outstanding.

American Home Shield assigned Modern to replace my furnace and AC. I questioned their ability and pricing. I performed a competitive analysis on the pricing and vetted out their abilities with local HVAC techs. They checked out enough to allow AHS to use them to perform my equipment replacement. I am HAPPY I let them do the work.
1. They did a great job on the install. 2. Their customer service is kind and effective. 3. When a loud rattle came from the unit 2 months after install, they came out and fixed it same day at no cost. 4. Their techs are knowledgeable and chill. They can hold a relatable conversation.
I am now on a maintenance plan with Modern and trust them with all of my plumbing, heating, and cooling needs.

My air conditioner quit working on the hottest Friday of the year 96 with heat index of 105. Zach came on Saturday when other companies couldn’t come till Monday. Zach was very knowledgeable about everything it needed to get it up and running again. I would recommend this company with 10 stars if possible. Thank you Zach!!

Everyone I’ve dealt with at Modern Heating and Air has been fantastic. The receptionists are friendly and helpful, the gentlemen who have come out to diagnose and fix problems have done a great job and helped me to understand what the problem is and what the options are to fix it. They lay out the issues clearly and I don’t feel like they’re trying to upsell me on anything. Everyone who has come into my house has been respectful and professional. I can’t recommend this company highly enough!

Installed my new furnace, came back and ran cold air returns and an additional heat run to our basement which we were finishing and when my husband had a medical emergency, they helped me and I am so grateful they were here when it happened. Jordan from Modern Heating and Air may be the best tech I’ve encountered. He was extremely thorough and walked me through everything he was checking. While diagnosing the issue, he communicated where the cooling levels should be and gave several options we could try. He fixed the issue quickly and showed me again where the new levels were at. This gave us a ton of confidence that the repair was completed accurately. Could not recommend him enough.

Called on a Tuesday to schedule a yearly service and later that evening the AC stopped blowing cold. Modern was able to get my appointment moved up, find the cause of the issue and get it corrected same day. Zach was the tech who came to my house and was professionally and friendly. Bonus points as my normally scared cat came out to say hello. Would highly recommend Modern Heating and Air to anyone in need.

I’ve always had great experiences with Modern Heating and Air and have recommended the company to my friends when the need your services. We just had our new Daikin air conditioner installed but have not had the opportunity to use it yet. The exterior unit is much lighter than the one it replaced, and it is not secured to the platform it sits on. We are concerned that it may be damaged in heavy winds. Do you cover this?

Max and Trevor replaced a water heater for us the morning after we came home from a weekend away to a leaking tank and no hot water! They called on their way and kept us informed throughout the process. Very courteous and polite and were super clean getting the old one out as well. We appreciate the attention to detail and we’re glad to be back in the game with hot water in such a short time.

Once again, Modern Heating and Air Conditioning did a great job with our AC yearly check. The staff is always professional, courteous, and explains the pro’s and con’s of their recommendations. When we have people come into the business I manage, asking for recommendations with their air condition and/or heating needs, we always recommend Modern Heating and Air Condition first. In my opinion, they are the best in Des Moines and surrounding area because of their service and staff.

Thanks for installing my new water heater. Jackson and Max are the best. They informed me every step of the way as to what was going on. When finished they showed me all the safety features and how to adjust the temperature. Jackson and Max were both courteous and informative. I definitely will be calling Mod Ern in September for a furnace inspection.. so refreshing to have friendly technicians in my home. Kudos to these two gentlemen.

Our furnace went out and we scheduled an appointment with Modern Heating and Cooling. They came right out and were very professional. The day of installation on our new furnace It’s was Sam and Josh who installed it. They BOTH were diligent and very knowledgeable about the process and system. They were on time and got the install done in a timely manner. Any questions I had they answered with a great level of knowledge and walked me through the information I needed to know in great detail. I unequivocally recommend Sam and Josh.

The staff at Modern Mechanical are absolutely fantastic. Our furnace went out on a Saturday and we were able to get someone that day to see what the problem was. Unfortunately it was the news no one ever wants to here “it’s probably time to replace your furnace “. Obviously not something that can be done on the weekend. Modern Mechanical reached out first thing Monday morning to get us set up with someone from Sales that day. Corbin was great! He explained all of our options, not only with different modles but financing as well. Before leaving he confirmed that they would be able to come the next day. I loved how honest Corbin was and wasn’t pushy. He even offered to get us more space heaters if we needed them
The team showed up the next morning and by that night we had heat in our home.

Wow I had a fantastic experience with Modern! My assigned tech had an issue so they were able to find another tech (Max) and still get to me in the morning. My heat was out and while it wasn’t quite as cold as the two previous days it was still cold in my house. Max showed up when he said he would, diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and showed me how to use new thermostat. Super friendly technician, friendly folks on the phone. I highly recommend for any HVAC needs!

Corbin at Modern Heating and Air was great to work with when we researched and purchased our furnace and air units in the Fall of 2024. He was here quickly and presented the options for us well, and didn’t push us one way or the other until he was asked. The installers also worked quickly and did a great job. We did have a gasket leak on the humidifier, but they came and repaired that very quickly. I would recommend this company to my friends and family.

We had 2 furnaces and AC units installed recently. Out of 4 quotes we received, Corbin was the best by far. He didn’t feel pushy, offered us more options than other companies, responded to all the questions I had very quickly, and provided an outstanding offer. Aaron and Darin did a great job installing the equipment. They were friendly, courteous, and left our basement cleaner than when we arrived. We are very pleased with our experience!

Modern Mech has been servicing our house for a number of years. They are helpful, curtious and very informative. We recently had them replace our furnac. We are very please with the install and they way it is performing.
