Max and Trevor replaced a water heater for us the morning after we came home from a weekend away to a leaking tank and no hot water! They called on their way and kept us informed throughout the process. Very courteous and polite and were super clean getting the old one out as well. We appreciate the attention to detail and we’re glad to be back in the game with hot water in such a short time.They educated us on the maintenance needed for the water heater as well. Shout out to Silas as well for setting this up on short notice and Crystal for calling right away Monday morning to confirm things – thanks all!
Once again, Modern Heating and Air Conditioning did a great job with our AC yearly check. The staff is always professional, courteous, and explains the pro’s and con’s of their recommendations. When we have people come into the business I manage, asking for recommendations with their air condition and/or heating needs, we always recommend Modern Heating and Air Condition first. In my opinion, they are the best in Des Moines and surrounding area because of their service and staff.

Thanks for installing my new water heater. Jackson and Max are the best. They informed me every step of the way as to what was going on. When finished they showed me all the safety features and how to adjust the temperature. Jackson and Max were both courteous and informative. I definitely will be calling Mod Ern in September for a furnace inspection.. so refreshing to have friendly technicians in my home. Kudos to these two gentlemen.

Our furnace went out and we scheduled an appointment with Modern Heating and Cooling. They came right out and were very professional. The day of installation on our new furnace It’s was Sam and Josh who installed it. They BOTH were diligent and very knowledgeable about the process and system. They were on time and got the install done in a timely manner. Any questions I had they answered with a great level of knowledge and walked me through the information I needed to know in great detail. I unequivocally recommend Sam and Josh.

The staff at Modern Mechanical are absolutely fantastic. Our furnace went out on a Saturday and we were able to get someone that day to see what the problem was. Unfortunately it was the news no one ever wants to here “it’s probably time to replace your furnace “. Obviously not something that can be done on the weekend. Modern Mechanical reached out first thing Monday morning to get us set up with someone from Sales that day. Corbin was great! He explained all of our options, not only with different modles but financing as well. Before leaving he confirmed that they would be able to come the next day. I loved how honest Corbin was and wasn’t pushy. He even offered to get us more space heaters if we needed themThe team showed up the next morning and by that night we had heat in our home.10/10 will recommend to everyone!

Wow I had a fantastic experience with Modern! My assigned tech had an issue so they were able to find another tech (Max) and still get to me in the morning. My heat was out and while it wasn’t quite as cold as the two previous days it was still cold in my house. Max showed up when he said he would, diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and showed me how to use new thermostat. Super friendly technician, friendly folks on the phone. I highly recommend for any HVAC needs!
Max was our service technician, he was polite and knowledgeable, we will be using your company for any furture needs.
Corbin at Modern Heating and Air was great to work with when we researched and purchased our furnace and air units in the Fall of 2024. He was here quickly and presented the options for us well, and didn’t push us one way or the other until he was asked. The installers also worked quickly and did a great job. We did have a gasket leak on the humidifier, but they came and repaired that very quickly. I would recommend this company to my friends and family.
We had 2 furnaces and AC units installed recently. Out of 4 quotes we received, Corbin was the best by far. He didn’t feel pushy, offered us more options than other companies, responded to all the questions I had very quickly, and provided an outstanding offer. Aaron and Darin did a great job installing the equipment. They were friendly, courteous, and left our basement cleaner than when we arrived. We are very pleased with our experience!
Modern Mech has been servicing our house for a number of years. They are helpful, curtious and very informative. We recently had them replace our furnac. We are very please with the install and they way it is performing.
They did an amazing job ! From figuring out if the furnace could be fixed or not and what the best options were as well as financing or rebates . I moved into the house a year ago wanted to wait to replace but things always happen when they do ! They lent me a few space heaters for the night and cleaned up after themselves !Great service

I love these guys! We’ve worked with them for our business for 3+ years. We have a roof top unit so the heat has gone out a couple times from storms. They are always available so quickly to get the problem resolved! The owner Jake was really great to work with during both of our build outs!

My heat went out (bad control panel) a couple weeks ago when we had an ice storm. A tech came out within hours of me contacting my warranty company and was able to help me have a temporary fix to get by until a new control panel could be ordered. They came out today and installed it. Not only did they fix the problem, they gave me a short-term solution so I had heat in the meanwhile. Great service!

So glad that Modern added plumbing to their business. We had the pleasure of using their business through American Home Shield at the beginning of the year. In short, we ended up receiving a new furnace. Since they were going to be here doing that, we received a decent discount on a new central air unit. They also informed us that they were now doing plumbing. Perfect timing as we were having work done on our bathroom and needed assistance from a plumber. Along came the very sweet Mr Lake. While here, he gave us some reasonable estimates for whole home water filters & softeners. Given the notice we received from the city in reference to lead in our exterior water line, we went ahead and had the filter installed. He was in and out within an hour and a half!

Both our furnace and AC were running. Mostly AC and it was freezing in the house. Could not figure out what was going on. Jackson determined our thermostat was broken. He replaced it and the heat is on and now I am looking forward to Thanksgiving tomorrow!!! Thanks Jackson!!! He explained all to me and showed me how to work the thermostat!!! Yay!!!
